Childhood at court

Film available in french only on

Libé logo.jpg

In juvenile courts, three out of five cases concern children in danger, who must be protected by the law – from violence, un-schooling, parental conflicts… Marie Receveur and Jean Toulier are children’s judges. The walls of their offices resonate with the most painful family stories. By following their daily activity and court sessions, this film casts a new look at a discreet form of judicial work which, for each of us, recalls universal issues: the place of the child, the difficulty of parenthood…
The judge’s practice thus appears as a telling sensor of the fragility in our society.
